Ivory examines the exploitation of elephants for their tusks. Inside the black band, white ivory is separated from the living animal and contained within a red wooden crate, accompanied by traces of handling and transport. Rather than depicting the act of violence itself, the work focuses on what follows it: the transformation of part of an animal into material that can be stored, moved, valued, and traded.
